The Endocannabinoid System

Clinical research into the health effects of cannabinoids (including CBD), is still in its early days and whilst not everything is fully understood about the role of CBD, research has shown that CBD interacts with the cells and proteins in our bodies.

The way CBD reacts with our bodies is through our endocannabinoid system.  This biological system was discovered as recently as the early 1990s and regulates mood, memory, immunity, sensations of pain, appetite, fertility, pregnancy, pre- and postnatal development and cardiovascular health.  We have two main cannabinoid receptors: CB1 and CB2.  These are found predominantly in the brain and nervous system and also in peripheral organs and tissues.  There are thought to be over 65 target points for cannabidiol (CBD) which is found naturally occurring in cannabis plants.  When this is extracted from the plant and mixed with a carrier oil it creates CBD oil.

Trippy Panther’s supplier of CBD oil, Reakiro is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of premium CBD products.  The entire hemp product life-cycle is tracked from seed to sale giving Trippy Panther customers peace of mind.  Reakiro’s hemp CBD oil is derived from hemp crops and is carried by MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) oil.  This oil is found in coconut oil and our supplier is vigilant in ensuring all their oil contains less than 0.2% THC, making it legal in the UK and Europe.

Currently, THC is illegal in the UK but provided CBD oils contain less than 0.2% of THC and are derived from the hemp plant, they can be used and sold within the UK without a doctor’s prescription.  When THC comes into the body, it overstimulates the body’s CB1 receptors and results in the feeling of being ‘high’.  Trippy Panther’s CBD products stimulate neurotransmitter systems in the brain and prevent over-stimulation of CB1 receptors, so you won’t feel high.
